My EPQ

This week I just finished my EPQ. My title was "how do dogs affect us socially, psychologically and physically?"
I have really enjoyed researching into this topic the whole idea initially fascinated me and the deeper I delved into the cracks of this amazing topic the more I truly thought, that this animals human bond is not being used enough. I think that if we optimised this bond we would really see phenomenal results.
I looked into how animals can affect the two ends of the spectrum both the elderly and the young children. Children can be affected by dogs in many way for example cognitive development, and emotional development. Which can really mould the type of person the child grows into. The elderly can be helped by the fact that stroking a dog reduces arthritic inflammation and also dogs can provide companionship for an otherwise lonley elderly person and give them a purpose in life.
A part of my research that really interested me was the chemicals behind all of the psychological effect. I would one day love to explore further into this field to truly see what this bond can do.
Physically and socially dogs help us apt walking a dog can help you lose weight and can also lower blood pressure. And when walking a dog it has been proven that dogs owners are more likely to trust other dog owners even of they are complete strangers. The fact that dogs help us to socialise more can help depressed people not single out themselves which really alleviates the grip of depression.
So that's just a small insight into the ins and outs of my EPQ I will put it on here in a few weeks once it has been marked in case anyone would like to read it.
