Week 6 BVSc

Hello lovely people who have accidentally stumbled upon this blog. If it wasn't intended then I'm sorry and have a great life. If it was intended then you may be crazy so please see a doctor or medical professional as soon as possible. Right let us proceed with todays half thrown together blog thing.

Monday
  • The story behind this bit is. My Australian friend was disappointed in me because apparently 30 mins on the stair-master at 75 step per minute was weak and embarrassing. So I made a deal if I wasn't doing 110 steps per minute for 30 mins by the end of November then he got to choose my punishment. So Monday morning I did 30 mins on the steps at 90 steps per minute. # proud # I'mlosingmybet.
  • I GOT TO SEE MY FAMILY!!!. Monday was a good day after lectures I met up with my parents and my sister we went for gyros pitta for lunch which was incredible however first we went to Lidl the best shop in the world and brought a lot of food and I mean lots. We then went shopping and I brought a lovely duvet fluffy coat and an amazing thermos flask which works too well because tea stays hot in it for 12 hours. We then had an amazing dinner and my fave going out place Revolution, my mum and I got espresso martinis which I LOVE and after that we went to the cinema to watch Bohemian Rhapsody. Which can I just say is an incredible movie and if you get the chance please go and see it.

Tuesday
  • Gym testing this morning was killer, well not tiring out but it hurt a lot. We had to do dish holds with our partner sitting on our legs as we hung off a gym bench. I was better at some than others but all in all I think I did ok so I'm happy with that.
  • I had a super long day of lectures from 10-5 which was tough then because I hadn't gone to the library on Monday I spent 5-9 pm in the library which killed me a bit inside as it always does and I didn't even get all of the work I needed to done, not even close.

Wednesday
  • I aced my practical today I got there and started immediately at 9am I was then finished by 10:45am which meant that I could go back to the flat and do some admin work before getting the bus up to rowing for 2 pm.
  • Rowing went very well we had out measurements taken which I always hate because we had to weigh ourselves. Can I just shout out to all the girls out there who think the number on the scales is important, IT'S NOT! I have tried to base how I feel in myself on how my body looks in the mirror and how I feel personally never on my actual weight because all that does is make you feel shit because for the other semi muscular girls out there muscle weighs more than fat so don't listen to the scales. ok rant over. We then did a 7 stroke max test which I feel went well and then a 1km 24 rate test in which I was the fastest girl which I was super pleased with.
  • Swimming, straight after the erg I went to swimming which was nice despite some people being rather frustrating in their lane etiquette. But it felt good to be in the pool and be pushing myself considering I was a meet in 15 days!
  • Studying at beacon house in the evening was long and tough because I still was trying to catch up on work and I still haven't today as I'm writing this which really frustrates me and cause me to want to just stop and not know where to restart really but oh well I've got all week to catch up now.

Thursday
  • The Bus journey of all bus journeys, I'm so glad I can't rant on here. So we got on the bus which arrived later than normal, and our bus driver waited for all the other buses to go past us, she then stopped looked at her phone didn't do anything on it then started driving again. We proceeded to get stuck at a roundabout for 10 mins and every light we got to turned red which meant a journey that normally takes 30 mins took 50 mins and I had to run in to make my lecture on time. rant over.
  • As always the 4 hours of lectures was brutal especially for most people the night after Halloween. I just don't think it's possible to work for that long with very few breaks.
  • After lunch we had the Dog practical which was fun we got to stroke some dogs which was lovely.
  • I was a bit late for my Wingate test in the evening which was annoying because my body wasn't warm so I don't think I did very well but my legs just seized up.

Friday
  • We had our DSE AHSF poster making session today which went really well, my groups title was Genes and Gene Expression and one of the girls in our group who is an amazing artist did some drawings for us. We managed to get it finished in the 5 hour period and got it all sent in fine.
  • Cake Time, I then went back and decided I wanted to bake a chocolate cake which I did do and it turned out great, however I ate way too much of the icing with cause me to feel sick and get a terrible stitch when I was doing the bleep test for rowing testing.
  • ABBIE ARRIVED! it's been a good week for seeing people I care about. I was late to picking her up because the busses in Bristol were being so shit! so we walked back to my place and then went immediately out for dinner, at you guessed it Revolution which for 2 cocktails and 2 burgers came to £21 which I thought was incredible. We then just went back to mine and chilled for the rest of the evening.

Saturday
  • I had a lie in! I know this is a rare day and we should all celebrate it, however we then also went to get Abbies lashes done which I took some revision cards too but I didn't get very many done because I was getting too distracted.
  • After that we walked back and Abbies mum picked her up and I went back upstairs to get my stuff for going to study.
  • I have been studying since 2pm and I am now officially dead once I finish this I'm going up stairs to cook some food and go to bed.
  • Oh today I also placed my first uber eats order which was delivered to my mate in Australia 9,100 miles away which I thought was pretty cool.

Aims for next week and things I need to improve on
  1. I know that I don't go out a lot and that I'm not your normal student, however I have an issue where I panic if I don't always have something to do and I know that I always have work that I should be doing and fitness that I should be doing as well and I just don't have time to socialise or drink or party. I just wanted to say that I know its strange but it's just me.
  2. I need to try and relax some more and to keep on top of work, I haven't enjoyed this week because I've constantly felt behind and I have an exam next week.
  3. I need to plan out my days because I don't have lectures Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday so I have to be careful with that.
  4. I need to eat healthier because at the moment I'm not eating too great which I think is making my skin shit.

Thank you for reading and well done for getting to this point, I'm proud of your and you should be too. I hope you all have an amazing week don't forget to smile at people and count your blessings. Even if you're going through a hard time you will get through it and you will be a stronger person of the other side.
